about

Shortly after finishing "Monolith", I was playing around with composing short pieces of music as if it was for a TV show or movie. The music turned out in a Tangerine Dream/Dixon & Stein style. I managed to complete five pieces before dropping the project, but I still liked the music a lot.

THE COMPANY (main titles)
Imagined as the theme tune, or music for the opening credits. It starts a bit "Stranger Things" but ends rather 80's TD.

TAYLOR'S THEME
A short piano-led piece with a mellotron counterpoint. This was to be the protagonist's theme, the name "Taylor" chosen as it didn't imply the protagonist's gender.

SILENCE IN THE BOARDROOM / ENTER THE DIRECTOR
An important board meeting is about to start. The director's presence is anticipated with bated breath. The camera then cuts to the Director walking the corridors towards the boardroom. He enters with an air of majesty and, as he takes his seat at the head of the table, the room returns to a hushed, awed silence.

MIYAMOTO-SAN
This started as a re-recording of a piece I wrote in 1998 called "Dark Spirit". I couldn't quite remember how to play it, so I guessed. The melody sounded like it had a somewhat Japanese feel to it, so I imagined it as the theme for the head of a Japanese corporation that merges with or takes over the titular company.

THE COMPANY (alternate titles)
The first attempt at making a theme tune, making it short enough for TV.
