about

"The Lake" marked my return to music after an almost ten-year absence with little more than the occasional track in between. It was made quite simply - just one synth, a programmed MIDI generator and me live-mixing the whole thing. The album's theme was that of isolation, but not the bad kind - the kind where you actually enjoy just being alone, nobody else around you, but not so far away that you can't return safely.

As an extra, download versions include several bonus tracks recorded for a potential follow-up album called "Small Blue World". Two of its tracks had a limited release on SoundCloud, but the 31-minute title track has never been released. It didn't sound noticeably different from "The Lake", so I shelved it, moving onto the dense, droning epic that became "Philharmony"

That bloke who used to make nice music like "Four Patterns", then went all dark and psychedelic and droney and all that 'evvy stuff.
